Entering Data into Table


After creating the table structure, you can enter records into the table. This is called populating the table. You can also see or print the data of selective fields of each record. Similarly the selective records can be printed or displayed by filtering the records of database. Deleting Records


You can also delete the records from the tables of the database. MS-Access displays a confirmation dialog box to confirm the deletion. The deleted records are permanently deleted from the tables of the database.

Sorting Records

Normally records are displayed or retrieved from the tables of database in the same order in which they are entered. DBMS has a very, powerful feature to sort the records of database table according to the contents of one or more fields. You can sort records into particular order such as alphabetical, numerical or by date etc. The records can be sorted into ascending or descending order. In ascending order, records are organized or arranged from “A” to “Z” and “a” to “z” alphabetically or from 0 to 9 numerically. Querying a Database


A query means “a request” or “a question”. You can also retrieve specific records from database by running a query. A query is a statement that specifies which data is to be retrieved from the database according to the given criteria. The specified data can be very easily retrieved from multiple tables of database by using the query. In other words a query is .a more powerful type of filter that is used to access data of relational database. Through query, you can also delete records, update records, sort records etc.

A query is like an English statement that contains the name of table, names of fields of the table, criteria and other options. Suppose you have a database “student” having two tables. One named as “Address” containing records of students with complete addresses. The other table “Marks” containing records of marks of students. Suppose you want to access the recor.ds of students that belong to Lahore and got marks greater than 700. You also want to get the data of two fields “Name” and “Father-name” from “Address” table and. data of three fields “Math”“Computer” and “Total” from “Marks” table. After an arduous struggle of over a decade by committed health professionals Pakistan now has an organ transplant law. President of PAKISTAN Asif Ali Zardari signed the Human Organ and Tissue Transplantation Bill 2010 which had been adopted by the two houses of parliament earlier.

The president also announced that he was willing his organs for transplantation. This law regulates organ donation and transplantation practices that were first introduced in the country nearly 25 years ago. Addressing a group of Pakistani journalists, American religious scholar Imam Yahya Hendi presented topic vision of a world where “people would celebrate the differences amongst one another” and societies would flourish on pluralist sentiments.
The evening, planned as a dialogue between the journalists and the imam, who is the Muslim chaplain at Georgetown University, was largely meant to focus on Islam in America. However, Hendi appeared insistent on discussing, indeed sermonising about, the “universal need for religious pluralism and tolerance,” which although compelling, hardly elaborates on the challenges that Muslim individuals and communities currently face in the United States and in several other parts of the world.
While Hendi did, in passing, acknowledge that Muslims were targeted in “many ways” after 9/11, he seemed disinclined, if not downright unwilling, to discuss the increasingly significant political dimension of the
whole Muslim issue in the United States and the West at large. His reluctance to delve into the political crux
of the matter subtly affirmed just how closely linked “America may not be perfect, but Muslims need to start.

The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has blocked 27,433 national identification cards in Balochistan.

Officials said that Nadra staff has been directed to complete the investigation in this regard within two months. Most of the NICs have been blocked in bordering districts with Afghanistan.

Nadra staff would probe into each NIC and the proof of issuance of cards.

However, the officials said that besides Afghans some Iranians have also managed to make fake NICs. Officials said that total number of NICs holders is more than 2.7 million people.
Nadra, which figures quite often in the media, is once again making headlines. This time the charges against the data registration authority are serious.
A Pakistani CNIC was recovered from the possession of the Jundullah chief, Abdolmalek Rigi, who was recently arrested by the Iranian authorities. Mr Rigi, a proclaimed terrorist, is not a Pakistani national. This gives the lie to Nadra’s claim of having a foolproof security and verification system in place. Initially the interior ministry claimed that the card was a forged one. But after the SMS verification system installed by Nadra and available to the public confirmed that the card was original, the government has been trying to shrug off the matter by giving explanations that are not really credible. It is to be expected that such incidents do little to enhance the people’s faith in the database authority.
The CNIC is a basic requirement for every formal transaction undertaken by a Pakistani in the country, and doubts are sown about the efficiency of the authority issuing the card when lapses become evident. True, it is difficult to point fingers at a particular organisation in a country where forging currency and manufacturing fake documents are common. This is all the more reason for government bodies issuing documents to exercise extra caution.

Nadra must ensure that its staff is trained to verify as far as possible the identity details of the person applying for a card. Carelessness or an unethical approach on the part of Nadra employees can lead to the serious misuse of documents by criminal elements. By now, the loopholes in data verification must be obvious to senior Nadra officials and attempts should be made to remove these and strengthen verification procedures by revising the checklist of the documents required. It would not be a bad idea to get the FIA to do some random checking of the documents submitted by applicants. Nadra’s task would be made infinitely easier if other government departments were to ensure that the documents and certificates being issued by them contain the correct details of the person applying for them.
